Simplicity

By Donna | June 25, 2008

Oh my gosh – Todd made this soooo easy.  Thanks thanks thanks.   So much news – hmm catching up on old news.  FINALLY finished painting the house and the garage door.  My neighbor kindly pointed out we forget the fireplace on the roof – it has a wood housing on the exterior.  Darn.  I am finishing the shed – had to clean out the back side which is just a few feet from the neighbor fence.  And had to remove several pieces of rebar and some iron support rods – then rake out the pile of leaves that have been hiding there.  Now it is ready for paint.  Need a ladder however to get to the top.  The front needs finishing touches too.  I have pictures – that will be the next step – downloading and uploading – more fun stuff to learn.

Now that I am supposed to tell you all my news I have discovered I really don’t have anything to tell you. I started a Yoga class – don’t know if old bodies can twist and turn that way but I am trying. Let’s see – what else…oh yes – I am hooked on chai tea.  The really spicy chai.  When I order it I usually ask for more cinnamon and more cardamon.  There is a Tea House in Boulder that has the absolute best spicy chai tea – I asked my friend Mary if we could go there, but neither of us remember how to get there.  Another friend took us last time.   Maybe Celine will have time and inclination to take us back.

What are the Fourth of July plans for all?  I think John and I will watch the fireworks on TV.  Maybe we will brave the crowds and watch fireworks from one of the lakes – North Lake I think it is.

Oh yes – the end of May my buddy Mary Clare and her daughter Lori and Lori’s dog Mickey came for a visit.  They got here the exact time we were having one of our very rare tornado attacks.  Loveland doesn’t have a tornado siren – the tornado hit a town just the other side of the freeway and did damage.  It cleared up tho, and we went up to Rocky Mountain Natl Park, to Bear Lake, and walked in snow, saw beautiful scenery – again I have pictures I will have to learn to add.

Then after they left, Brenda and Bob visited.  We took a fast trip to Grand Junction to visit Mary and Chris – and Pearl of course!  ha ha    The girls took a great hike in the mountains while the guys did guy things.  Had a great time – was good to see everyone.  When we got back we had a party – invited Todd, Dana and 2 boys, for a picnic and barbecue. Unfortunately, the weather was rotten. Raining, raining, raining. We need the water so I shouldn’t complain, but it made for a cozy affair.  Brenda had a wonderful tasty way to do little red potatoes, we had a mound of veggies, and salmon.   Great time. Dana is John’s daughter, lives in Fort Collins.   So everyone got a chance to meet.
