FaceBooked…
By Todd | December 11, 2008
Well, I’ve moved from blogging to social networking for the most part…or I still write at my personal space.
Time to harp on the Verschoor girls about their lack of writing prowess again.
If you’re on FaceBook…I’m there. So is your eldest sister/aunt.
Oh…and I’m working on the upgrade to the WP 2.7. 2.7 looks much easier to understand, so, we’ll see how that goes…soon I hope 🙂

Greetings from Missouri
By scampbel13 | September 27, 2008
Hi Everyone!
Man has it been a long time since I posted… Last time I posted was after the Earthquake in STL in April. A lot has happened since then… Let’s see… My company (Reuters) merged with Thomson. What else, hmmm… oh yeah, I got a letter (along with about 100 other people) saying that my services will no longer be needed… as of Dec 31, 2010!!!… If I stay on until Dec 31, 2010, I will get over a year of severance… Cool! That will give me plenty of time to find a new job. Unless I transfer internally. I’m not even going to think about that for awhile. Wouldn’t be a bad thing since I would be able to retain my 5 weeks of vacation if I don’t leave the company. I doubt I could get more than 3 weeks at a new company.
Hope everyone who reads this blog is doing well!
Scott

Simplicity
By Donna | June 25, 2008
Oh my gosh – Todd made this soooo easy. Thanks thanks thanks. So much news – hmm catching up on old news. FINALLY finished painting the house and the garage door. My neighbor kindly pointed out we forget the fireplace on the roof – it has a wood housing on the exterior. Darn. I am finishing the shed – had to clean out the back side which is just a few feet from the neighbor fence. And had to remove several pieces of rebar and some iron support rods – then rake out the pile of leaves that have been hiding there. Now it is ready for paint. Need a ladder however to get to the top. The front needs finishing touches too. I have pictures – that will be the next step – downloading and uploading – more fun stuff to learn.
Now that I am supposed to tell you all my news I have discovered I really don’t have anything to tell you. I started a Yoga class – don’t know if old bodies can twist and turn that way but I am trying. Let’s see – what else…oh yes – I am hooked on chai tea. The really spicy chai. When I order it I usually ask for more cinnamon and more cardamon. There is a Tea House in Boulder that has the absolute best spicy chai tea – I asked my friend Mary if we could go there, but neither of us remember how to get there. Another friend took us last time. Maybe Celine will have time and inclination to take us back.
What are the Fourth of July plans for all? I think John and I will watch the fireworks on TV. Maybe we will brave the crowds and watch fireworks from one of the lakes – North Lake I think it is.
Oh yes – the end of May my buddy Mary Clare and her daughter Lori and Lori’s dog Mickey came for a visit. They got here the exact time we were having one of our very rare tornado attacks. Loveland doesn’t have a tornado siren – the tornado hit a town just the other side of the freeway and did damage. It cleared up tho, and we went up to Rocky Mountain Natl Park, to Bear Lake, and walked in snow, saw beautiful scenery – again I have pictures I will have to learn to add.
Then after they left, Brenda and Bob visited. We took a fast trip to Grand Junction to visit Mary and Chris – and Pearl of course! ha ha The girls took a great hike in the mountains while the guys did guy things. Had a great time – was good to see everyone. When we got back we had a party – invited Todd, Dana and 2 boys, for a picnic and barbecue. Unfortunately, the weather was rotten. Raining, raining, raining. We need the water so I shouldn’t complain, but it made for a cozy affair. Brenda had a wonderful tasty way to do little red potatoes, we had a mound of veggies, and salmon. Great time. Dana is John’s daughter, lives in Fort Collins. So everyone got a chance to meet.

Loveland news
By Donna | April 30, 2008
It was supposed to rain and be cold today – but no such luck. So, I guess there is no excuse not to start painting the new fascia. John spent yesterday scraping the old icky paint off. Let’s see – after all the trim I am going to look at garage doors. Those of you who have visited me know that door is a real eyesore. And heavy wood – I am always afraid it will fall down.
My new dog Buddy is doing so much better. No more nipping at the heels of my friends. And his barking is much better. Although when he barked at my neighbor last night, then neighbor said the only good dogs are hot dots. And he used to raise dogs. Oh well.
Anyone see Rev Wright;s latest news story? I missed it – but I saw Obama answering numerous questions about it – no one asked about what he will do with Social Security, the war, the gas prices, – no one asked anything relevant to today’s world. I remember when Kennedy ran for Pres. the newspapers were speculating if the Pope would rule the US if Kennedy were elected. All a bunch of baloney.
Hmm today I only have one exercise class so I guess no excuse to not paint. So, I am off to walk Buddy, get on my painting clothes, and get busy.
We barbecued last night – it was so nice. It is just beautiful here – lovely warm here then I can look up at the Rocky Mountains and see the snow! Superb. Come visit!!

Monday April 19
By Donna | April 29, 2008
On Saturday 4 of us gals joined the CROP walk here in town. It is a 4 mile walk – and on Saturday we had SNOW. Yep, snow. For about 2 miles. And WINDY. Going north was like a salmon swimming upstream. But we did fine. Celine and myself are fast walkers, one of our group took a ride back to the start line at the 2 mile point, and the 4th one finished about 4 minutes after Celine and myself. Then in the evening we all went to a jewelry party – very nice jewelry, reasonable priced. Was fun just to sit and talk. Yesterday, Sunday, John and I went to Estes to see the mountains and the snow. We walked along the river for a while, then meandered downtown with all the tourists. Then after a quick stop at Dairy Queen for nourishment (HA) we headed down to Loveland. Today instead of painting and working on the outside of the house, some of us are going on a hike to see the spring flowers. We are leaving at 9 A.M. and hope to get back in time for our 1 P. M. class. I am sure we will – at least I hope we will. The place is about half way up into the mountains – Jean said the first little bit is quite an ascent, but after that it is pretty good. Whew. Hope I make it. Lots of huffing and puffing I think. Oh well, good for the heart.
So, what’s new with everyone? I spoke with Sandi yesterday – she is actually going to ask for directions on this site, and she will add some Jayden pictures. Good. She sent me one – I guess Dr Seuss has a Maisy and the daisy book – anyway, that is Jayden’s latest interest. So she got a daisy, plastered it on his head, and took a picture. SOOOO CUTE!!! And I am not too prejudiced.
Off to the hike –
